Overview
Implementing a high-voltage grid-scale BESS typically takes 12–18 months from initial consultation through grid interconnection and market participation. REVIX JAPAN provides end-to-end support covering design, procurement, and construction (EPC) through market connectivity and operations & maintenance (O&M).

Step-by-Step Details
STEP 1: Initial Consultation & Needs Assessment (Estimated: 1–2 weeks)
Begin by contacting us via the web form or email (inquiry@revix.inc). After your inquiry, our representative will conduct a needs assessment online or in person.
Key topics covered:
- Business objectives and approximate investment scale
- Site availability and land information
- Relationship to solar power plants (new or existing)
- Preferred schedule
STEP 2: KYC / NDA Execution / Preliminary Investigation (Estimated: 2–4 weeks)
We conduct a credit check (KYC) and execute a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), then perform a preliminary investigation of candidate sites using publicly available information.
Preliminary investigation scope:
- Hazard map review (flood, landslide)
- Noise regulation zone confirmation
- Initial review of development permit requirements
- Initial assessment of grid interconnection feasibility
STEP 3: Revenue Projection & Detailed Simulation (Estimated: 2–4 weeks)
Based on site information and equipment scale, we prepare and present a detailed revenue simulation. The model combines revenue from all three markets: frequency regulation, capacity, and wholesale electricity.
STEP 4: Site Survey (Estimated: 1–3 months)
Preliminary Survey (Initial) Photography and video of the candidate site, surrounding environment assessment, utility pole and power line location confirmation.
Detailed Survey Comprehensive on-site investigation including soil testing, noise measurement, and boundary confirmation. Confirms installation feasibility and establishes a preliminary construction cost estimate.
STEP 5: Quotation & Business Plan Presentation (Estimated: 1–2 weeks)
Based on the detailed survey results, we present a comprehensive quotation covering construction costs, equipment costs, O&M fees, and a full business plan.
STEP 6: Contract Execution (Estimated: 1–2 weeks)
Upon agreement, we execute a contract in one of the following forms:
- Construction contract
- Completed equipment sale agreement
- Equipment purchase agreement (headquarters-liability or branch-liability type)
STEP 7: Grid Interconnection Application & Permitting (Estimated: 3–12 months)
We file the grid interconnection application with the utility company. For high-voltage and extra-high-voltage connections, the process from connection study through construction cost notification may take several months to over a year. Required permits — including fire department consultation, building confirmation, and farmland conversion — are pursued in parallel.
STEP 8: Design, Procurement & Installation (EPC) (Estimated: 3–6 months)
Following permit acquisition, design, equipment procurement, and installation work commence.
Standard construction scope:
- Foundation work (concrete foundations)
- BESS container delivery and installation
- PCS, EMS, and transformer installation
- Substation equipment installation
- Electrical and communication work
- Fencing and site finishing
- Grid connection work (utility side)
Aggregator selection and integration proceed in parallel with EPC, with market-ready design incorporated from the outset.
STEP 9: Grid Interconnection & Inspections (Estimated: 1–2 months)
Following the utility company's completion inspection and grid interconnection confirmation, formal grid interconnection is completed.
STEP 10: Market Participation Launch (Aggregator Integration)
Following grid interconnection, market bidding and operations commence as soon as EMS system integration with the aggregator is complete.
STEP 11: Long-Term Operations & Maintenance (TDS 24/365 Monitoring)
After commercial operation begins, TDS maintains 24/7/365 remote monitoring continuously.
- Monthly: Remote data analysis and anomaly detection
- Quarterly: On-site inspection, visual check, control system confirmation
- Semi-annual: Output performance test and terminal torque check
- Annual: Comprehensive inspection, insulation resistance measurement, replacement assessment
- 20-year: Capacity guarantee (under maintenance service contract)
