REVIX JAPAN's high-voltage grid-scale BESS is a container-type battery energy storage system developed in collaboration between Tokyo Densetsu Service Co., Ltd. (TDS), a TEPCO Group company, and NEXTES Corporation. Featuring a KHK-certified fire-resistant enclosure, patented active balancing control technology, a 20-year capacity warranty, and 24/7 monitoring as standard, the system targets revenue improvement across three markets: the frequency regulation market, the capacity market, and the wholesale electricity market (subject to market conditions).

Why High-Voltage Grid-Scale BESS Now?

The explosive growth in data center demand (approximately 7 million kW of applications in the TEPCO service area — equivalent to 6 to 7 nuclear power plants) combined with the rapid expansion of renewable energy has made stabilizing the power grid an urgent priority. The government and power utilities urgently need large quantities of MW-scale batteries, and subsidy programs such as the SII "Grid-Scale Battery Storage Introduction Support Program" are well established.

High-voltage grid-scale BESS is an investment asset that enables long-term, stable, and large-scale participation in this market opportunity.

Three Strengths of TDS × NEXTES

Strength ① Safety — KHK-Certified Fire-Resistant Enclosure

The system uses a KHK-certified fire-resistant enclosure that complies with Fire Defense Agency Notification No. 200 (revised July 2024). Key features:

The difference from products merely described as "KHK-equivalent" is clear: our product holds a third-party evaluation test report, making it a proven fire-resistant enclosure.

Strength ② Longevity — Active Balancing Technology (Three Patents)

Three patented control technologies developed by NEXTES Corporation achieve battery lifespan 10 times longer than conventional systems.

ACB (Active Cell Balance) Resolves voltage differences between cells at 10 times the capacity of conventional systems. Voltage adjustment is possible during charging, discharging, and standstill, preventing overall capacity degradation caused by deteriorated cells.

AMB (Active Module Balance) Module-level balancing maximizes the efficiency of the entire large-scale battery system.

IHS (Intelligent Hot-Plug Switch) Enables pack replacement while the system is operating. Maintenance can be performed without shutting down the system, sustaining uptime.

These technologies provide the technical foundation for the 20-year capacity warranty (70%).

Strength ③ Support — TDS 24/7 Monitoring & One-Stop Service

24/7 remote monitoring and maintenance by Tokyo Densetsu Service (TDS) is provided as standard.

Furthermore, all major components have obtained JC-STAR★1 compliance labels, providing advance compliance with the security requirements that will be mandatory for new grid connections from April 2027 onward.

Proposal for FIT Solar Power Plant Owners

For owners of high-voltage solar power plants approaching or past the end of their FIT period, REVIX JAPAN can propose revenue improvement strategies combining FIP conversion and battery co-location. Under the FY2025 supplementary budget "Renewable Energy Source Co-Located Battery System Introduction Support Program," subsidies covering one-third of eligible costs (one-half for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage) are available (subject to application requirements).
